The Morning

The sun streaked across the sky
Its rays killed the dark
as arrows do the fearful foe
And signalled the birth of a new dawn

Yet the world was snoring,
in its deep, enchanted sleep.

The chirping of birds filed the sky
as the music strummed sweetly,
The gentle breeze lifted the blanket of sleep
As the sky cleared for the display of Apollo's might

Yet the world was snoring,
in its deep, enchanted sleep.

When will we wakeup to the new dawn?
Why are we still lost in dreams
when the world is alive and raring to go?
Wake up! Wake up!its the clarion call of the day.
The time of slumber is long long lost,
lets step out of our shells

At the herald of the new day
,Grab the sun with both hands
And put its fire into our hearts!
Show the world our awakening!

The saviour

When the darkness has engulfed the mankind

and the roads of redemption recede,

Who will again come to light the dark night

,In raising the human spirit, who will succeed?

The search is on to find the saviour

Who will respond to society's need

The hunt is on find the hero

Who will alleviate the darkness with his deeds

But instead of searching without,

why dont we see within,

For bringing about the positive change,

why dont we take the lead?

Why dont we brighten the dark night of pessimism,

with our own optimistic deeds?

The saviour will not come from outside,

He has to be borne in the human spirit.

The wait for sun to rise is too long

To bring the light,

we, the lamps, have to be lit.

Who are you, O stranger in the mirror,

mimicking my moves,

masquerading as me?

Who are you,

o stranger in the mirror?

Why do we look exactly alike?

O stranger, Why do I feel

that we are one and the same?

Infact, I now realise

that you are my spirit, and I, your body.

Freedom-a poem

Freedom from fear is the freedom I seek
Freeom from odours of pessimism from which we reek
Freedom from the sense of defeat
Freedom from self imposed limits.

Freedom from short sightedness that halts progress
Freedom from hesitence that makes us regress
This is the freedom for which I crave
This is the freedom whose need today is grave.
